Are you really sure what you're missing out on?

We always hear meditation is good for you. It helps relieve stress, control anxiety, enhances self-awareness and many other health benefits.
But have you ever heard of the gut-mind connection? Don't worry you're not alone..but think about this. Have you ever suffered from:
Nausea
Reflux
Weight gain
Joint and muscle pain
Headaches
Psychosis
Memory loss
Fatigue
Insomnia
Now we see a lot of hands go up. These are things that a lot of us treat as normal parts of daily living which is unfortunate when there might be a simple cure - yep meditation! It's actually one of many tricks to stimulating your vagus nerve function which is the main channel of communication between the GI tract and the brain.
This nerve is also a key player in the parasympathetic nervous system. The more we stimulate the vagus nerve (by deep breathing, for example), the more we enhance the calming effects of the parasympathetic (or "rest and digest") nervous system and counter the stimulating effects of the sympathetic (or "fight or flight") nervous system.
Read this insightful article from mingbodygreen to find other ways to activate this nerve.
